The Katlehong SAPS were once again hard at work this weekend, conducting several operations in their precinct.
The operations, held between February 22 and 24, aimed to not only curb crime in the area but also to increase police visibility.
Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and EMPD officers assisted in the operations, which led to the arrest of 34 suspects.
The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included rape, culpable homicide, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, interfering with police duties, malicious damage to property, fraud, theft, possession of a suspected hijacked vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of counterfeit money, dealing in drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.
Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area, even if it is anonymously, to help in the fight against crime.
