Man dies after being knocked over on N3 highway in Germiston

ER24 paramedics attempted to resuscitate a man after he was knocked over on the N3 highway.

A man, believed to be 19 years old, was killed on Saturday afternoon when he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle on the N3 highway in Germiston.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 4pm to find the body of a man lying in the middle lane of the highway.

Another service was found on scene assessing the patient.

“Upon further assessment, paramedics discovered that the man had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life,” said Russel Meiring, from ER24 corporate communications.

“Paramedics immediately began treatment and initiated CPR.

“Unfortunately, after some time, no vital signs returned, and he was declared dead.”

It is understood that the man’s vehicle had broken down on the side of the road.

As the man exited his vehicle, he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigation.
