In rain or sunshine, athletes blitz into action

Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) track and field programme runs smoothly despite of threatening rainfall.

Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) once again took to the Germiston Stadium for their half-day track-and-field programme last Saturday.

Tembisa Athletics Club’s Hwema Nyarai comes in second in the youth women’s 800m.

Heavy rain fell right at the beginning of the meet, but soon cleared allowing athletics supporters and athletes to enjoy a day of various sporting codes.

Celebrating as he charges past the finish line in first place in the youth men’s 800m, is Happy Dingile from Ulinda Athletics Club, based in KwaThema.
Prince Moabelo ranked in first place in the junior men’s 800m race.

Athletes representing local clubs, such as Diamond Athletics Club, Germiston Callies Harriers and clubs such as Tembisan Athletics Club from neighbouring towns, all joined in on the sporting action.

Abraham Kaltamo from Diamond Athletics Club tackles long-distance running at the Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) half-day track-and-field event.
