Katlehong SAPS share their successes

Katlehong police arrested 20 suspects during several weekend operations.

Officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit were hard at work this weekend, hosting several different crime prevention operations.

Twenty suspects were nabbed during the operation, held between February 1 and 3.

The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included rape, common assault, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property, interfering with police duties, pointing a firearm, possession of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi called for the community to report crimes and criminal activities in the area, and help in the fight against crime.
