The EMPD Public Order Policing Task Team recovered four sedans via the assistance of tracking coordinates provided by the vehicles’ tracking companies, between January 14 and 17.
The vehicles recovered were a white Mercedes Benz, white VW Polo, silver Toyota Corolla and a silver Mercedes Benz either hijacked or stolen in January in Edenvale, Kempton Park, Primrose and Wadeville, respectively.
All four of the recovered vehicles were found abandoned and some were in bad shape (dashboards and key ignitions damaged).

The white Mercedes Benz hijacked in Edenvale on January 14, at 3.17pm, was recovered near Alexandra.
The white VW Polo stolen in Kempton Park, at 8.10pm, on January 14, was recovered in Dawn Park.
The silver Toyota Corolla stolen in Primrose on January 16, at 3.54pm, was recovered in Buhle Park and the silver Mercedes Benz hijacked in Wadeville on January 17, at noon, was recovered in Dawn Park.
The recovered vehicles were towed to the SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound in Benoni for safekeeping and further investigation.
