Bright smiling faces light up the corridors of Oosterkruin

Laerskool Oosterkruin Primary School opened its doors for the new school year.

There was excitement, laughter and a few tears as Laerskool Oosterkruin Primary School welcomed their new Grade Ones, on Wednesday.

The school was abuzz with activity and principal Chris Kruger and all of his staff were in high spirits, welcoming children and parents to the school.

“We have welcomed 160 Grade Ones to the school, which is a record number of enrolment.

“It has been a bit of a hectic morning but we are coping and are ready to start the new year,” said Kruger.

A number of walk-ins could be seen in the school’s front office at the start of the day.

“Though there may be walk-ins, these will be handled by the district office,” Kruger said.

The excited Grade One children entered their new classrooms where they met their teachers either Suzel Pretorius, Adél Cromhout, Carina Borstlap, Amanda Gericke or Susan Greyling.

The children then spent time going through their stationery while they got to know their classmates.

Principal, teachers and staff member are looking forward to a wonderful 2019.
