Breaking News – Police investigate Orange Road murder

Primrose police are investigating the murder of a 68-year-old man, who was found stabbed to death in his Orange Road home.

The Primrose police have confirmed that they are investigating the murder of a 68-year-old man.

Officers found the victim, who had stab wounds to the upper body, in his Orange Road home at about 9am this morning (Wednesday) after they were called to the scene.

“A 76-year-old woman, who lives in a cottage on the property, told police that she had noticed the gate being closed at 8am but hadn’t seen who was closing it,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“She then went to the main house to check on the victim, who lived alone and found him in his bedroom covered in blood.

“She told officers that she had last seen the deceased alive on Tuesday at 8pm.”

Paramedics were called to the scene and the victim was declared dead.

A case of murder has been opened.

“If the community has any information that may aid police in their investigation they are encouraged to call the Primrose Police Station’s detective branch on 011 776 1600,” said Maome.
