Carols, gifts and festive delight at Christmas party

The season of giving is upon us. Knowing this, Solidariteit Helpende Hand added Christmas delight to the lives of many this festive season.

To continue their support for underprivileged families Solidariteit Helpende Hand hosted a family-style Christmas party for locals who needed it most, last Sunday.

Hosted at the Quad Track in Elsburg, the Christmas party added a touch of Christmas cheer to the lives of families supported by the non-government organisation (NGO) this year.

The sun shone bright, allowing water lovers to splash in the pool while people participated in a variety of games designed for children and adults.

There were fun prizes up for grabs in the games station including dolls, cars and sweet packets.

The children were treated to the company of two giggly clowns and just when party-goers thought it was a wrap, Father Christmas appeared.

Christmas carols blasting through the speakers and the unwrapping of gifts notched up the ambience, making it a real early Christmas for attendees.

The organisation thanked Spur Lambton and Pneuma Motorcycle Club for their support and sponsoring food and gifts.

“We are community driven and kept afloat by donations from the public,” said Yolanda Hall, chairperson of Solidariteit Helpende Hand.

“Thank you to all our sponsors and partners this year.”

Yolanda also appealed to residents to continue supporting their organisation by donating much-needed day-to-day items to help those in need.

“Whether it is food, clothes or blankets, these may seem small, but they can make a difference in someone else’s life this festive season.”
