Life Roseacres Hospital staff members learn more about breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is celebrated countrywide in October.

The month focuses on educating women and men about the dangers of breast cancer, as well as providing vital information on how to help detect the disease early.

Jenna Skews, project administrator from the Breast Health Foundation recently visited Life Roseacres Hospital to discuss the causes, symptoms and treatments of breast cancer with staff members.

“One of the most important prevention steps is to do a monthly breast self-examination seven days after menstruation,” Jenna said.
