While on patrol in the Mofokeng Section, in Katlehong, recently, officers from the Katlehong Police Station made a gruesome discovery.
“Officers were told by members of the community that a baby had been dumped at a dumping site in the area.
“It is believed the baby was stillborn and, therefore, was dead when it was dumped,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe, Katlehong police’s corporate communications official.

“The suspect was charged with concealment of birth, but this charge could be changed to one of murder as the baby was found burnt,” Ndobe said.
The woman was released from police custody on bail, and she is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court again soon.
“Police are still investigating the crime,” said Ndobe.
