Cansa competition could see you scouted by industry professionals

Join in the fun of the Cansa Socialite – Perform for a Cause event at Carnival City.

Take your turn to shine on Carnival City’s stage in the Cansa Socialite – Perform for a Cause competition and put yourself in line to be scouted by one of the top industry leaders.

Cansa is bringing the Cansa Socialite competition to Gauteng this year and is calling for entries.

The showcase will take place at Carnival City on October 13 and 14.

Cansa Socialite – Perform for a Cause gives aspiring performers the opportunity to showcase their talent, as well as become Cansa ambassadors, taking the message of cancer awareness and lowering the cancer risk to their various communities, all whilst raising funds to enable Cansa to continue to offer support to those affected by the disease.

“Cansa is a cause close to our hearts and we are thrilled to have partnered with the Cancer Association of South Africa on this worthy and fun-filled cause, benefiting all involved,” said Michelle Smith, the marketing manager for Carnival City.

Besides offering a modelling category for boys and girls aged three to 19 years of age, this year’s edition of Socialite has broadened the opportunity for performers.

If you are a passionate actor, singer or dancer of any age you can also enter and stand the chance of being scouted as well.

With experts and agencies such as Boss Models, Brümilda van Rensburg, SA Dance Talent and COPA (Campus Of Performing Arts) to name but a few watching to see who they might want to take under their wing, this is possibly one of the best opportunities for performers and models who want to take their careers a step further.

Top performers from this competition will also be given the opportunity to expand and grow their fan base by performing at other Cansa events, such as Cansa Relay for Life, Cuppa for Cansa, Cansa Active and Cansa Shavathon.

“Cansa Socialite provides the perfect opportunity for individuals to use their personal gifts and talents to make a positive difference in their own communities,” said Maria Scholtz, Cansa’s head of sustainability.

The times are as follows:

October 13: Modelling:

• Three to six years old: 11am.

• Seven to 12 years old: 2.30pm

• Thirteen to 19 years old: 5pm

October 14: Performing arts at 11am (all age groups).
