Newborn baby found in mobile toilet

Body of newborn baby found in Dukathole.

The body of a newborn baby boy was found in one of the mobile toilets installed on Jack Pienaar Street in Dukathole, Sector Two, last Thursday.

“Germiston SAPS officers were recently patrolling in Dukathole when they received a phone call from a community member requesting their assistance on Jack Pienaar Street,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston police.

“Upon arrival, a large crowd had formed around one of the toilets in which the officers found the baby boy.”

According to Mabunda, the officers immediately called the paramedics who declared the baby dead.

The body was taken to the Germiston mortuary.

“At this point, no witnesses have come forth nor do we have any information pertaining to the mother of the child,” said Mabunda.
