Prepare for a night of ultimate worship
Thandiwe Takawira calls on locals to attend the relaunch of her album, Those who trust in the Lord, in September.
Thandiwe Takawira, a vocalist, songwriter, pre-school owner and pastor at World Harvest Pentecostal Church, is set to host The Night of Ultimate Worshipnext month.
The talented gospel star, who released her debut album in December last year, is relaunching her 10-track album, Those who trust in the Lord, with new branding.
The event and the relaunch is part of her strategy to generate a new Germiston-based fan base.
“When I started singing professionally, my husband Bishop Justin, who also happens to be my manager, would always tell me my music was destined to touch lives all over the country and even reach international shores.
“True to his prediction, that is my reality.
“Unfortunately, my Germiston audience is not as big.
“Which is a concern for me because how is it that I am well-known in distant provinces, when my own neighbours do not know me,” Thandiwe expressed.

The Graceland resident started singing at a young age, admiring legendary gospel artists and groups such as Dr Rebecca Malope, Sipho Mkhabane and Hillsong Worship.
“I’ve always known how to sing and people around me were also aware of my talent.
“However, after joining and parting with a few choirs I quickly realised that talent was not enough to build a career.
“I have sung at weddings and churches, either in a group or as a solo artist, but because it was not yet God’s plan for me to breakthrough, I did not,” said Thandiwe.
“The success of my debut album is all God’s plan.
“His timing is perfect.”
Thandiwe believes that breaking into the music industry last year was God’s perfect plan because she is now mature enough to discern between what will break her career and what will build it.
“We must not depend on our own understanding, but trust in the Lord with all our hearts, thoughts and understanding,” she said.
