Primrose police arrest man after he allegedly assaulted his partner.

After attempting to serve a protection order against her 42-year-old partner last Friday, a woman was attacked.

“The victim asked officers from the Primrose Police Station to accompany her to her Makause informal settlement home to serve the order.

“However, when the party arrived, the accused was not home,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The woman later met the man while walking on the street, and having seen the police with her earlier that day he accused her of wanting him to be arrested.

“The man allegedly attacked her, hitting her with his fists and kicking her all over her body,” said Maome.

The victim was able to notify the police and a case of domestic violence was opened and the suspect arrested.

“We continue to urge our community to seek help in their relationships should they need it and not take matters into their own hands,” said Maome.

The man has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
