House to shelter victims in their time of need

The Victim Empowerment Centre will be opening a safe house on Mandela Day.

Members of the Germiston Police Station were all hands on deck on Thursday as they painted the Victim Empowerment Centre house situated at the police station.

The house will act as a safe haven for victims of domestic violence and rape, as well as abandoned children.

It will offer immediate help to those in need before they are referred to places of safety.

The house is set to open its doors to the public on Mandela Day (Wednesday).
