Residents reminded of tariff hikes, which take effect from July 1

Metro reminders residents that there will be a tariff hike implemented from July 1.

The metro is reminding all Ekurhuleni residents and businesses of the tariff increase which will take effect from July 1.

The increase was announced by the MMC for Finance and Economic Development, Clr Doctor Xhakaza, during the tabling of the 2018/2019 budget.

Residents will start noticing changes in their July monthly account statements.

Tariffs have increased as follow:

• Assessment rates 6.9 per cent.

• Water 12.96 per cent.

• Sanitation 9 per cent.

• Refuse removal 7.5 per cent.

• Electricity – between 5.32 per cent and 8.5 per cent (subject to usage).
