Ackermans staff held up and store robbed in Elspark

Police confirm that Ackermans at the Pick n Pay Centre in Elspark was robbed this morning.

The Elsburg police have opened a case of business robbery after Ackermans at the Pick n Pay Centre in Elspark was robbed this morning (June 11).

“At 10am this morning four suspects, armed with firearms, entered Ackermans and held up the staff.

“The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of money, cellphones and clothing,” said Capt André de Jager, the spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni West Cluster SAPS.

Police have confirmed that no one was injured and no shots were fired during the robbery.

“A police investigation is under way,” de Jager said.

No arrests have been made as yet.
