Young Assumption Convent rower shines in the UK

Assumption Convent School is proud of young rower Courtney Westley.

Courtney Westley and rowing coach Kwaku Owusu from Assumption Convent School were invited to the United Kingdom as part of the South African Schools Rowing Union (SASRU) squad from May 2 to 14.

Courtney participated in three regattas in the UK, namely the Scullery Regatta (May 5), the Wallingford Regatta (May 6) and the Bedford Regatta (May 12).

Courtney won two bronze medals in the sculls and a gold medal for winning the final of the octuple race with her SA schools team.

The school is thrilled with Courtney’s outstanding achievements.
