Fun in the sun for Tekkie Tax Day

Heavenly Flowers Private School hosted a successful Pre-School Sports Day fund-raiser in aid of the Greater Germiston Society for Child and Family Welfare in support of its Tekkie Tax Day campaign.

“When people hear ‘private school’ they think ‘expensive’, but that is not the case with us. Instead, my team and I are dedicated to the education of children and making a difference in the community.”

These were the words Heidi Searle, owner of Heavenly Flowers Private School.

One such way the school hopes to make a difference in the community is by teaming up with the Greater Germiston Society for Child and Family Welfare in support of its Tekkie Tax Day campaign.

The school hosted a successful Pre-School Sports Day, last Saturday, at Colin Mann Primary School in Sinclair Road, in Lambton, to help raise funds for the campaign.

Guests were treated to a selection of food stalls while the children were put through their paces in a number of fun and entertaining activities, which included judging a fun-filled mascot battle.

Other highlights included a dance and kick-boxing demonstration and a water balloon fight.

Tekkie Tax Day shoelaces and stickers were also on sale to help raise additional funds.

The school was thrilled with the turnout and everyone had a great time.

All proceeds from the day will be donated to charity.

But this is not the end of the school’s contribution to the campaign, with the school planning to continue its fund-raising efforts until Tekkie Tax Day on May 25.

“Going forward we would love to make this an annual event and get a lot more schools involved,” said Heidi.
