ANC caucus accepts decision that allegations against Clr Lusanda Madikizela are to be tested through an independent disciplinary process.

Following the special council meeting held on April 4, the ANC caucus has welcomed the decision on the process of testing the allegations of financial misconduct against Clr Lusanda Madikizela.

“We welcome the above resolution guided by our standing commitment that any manifestation of maladministration, fraud and corruption must be responded to swiftly, subject to due processes,” said Clr Jongizizwe Dlabathi.

Madikizela was suspended last month pending investigations into irregular expenditure of R50-million by her department.

“Furthermore, the ANC caucus believes that the principle of innocent until proven guilty must be adhered to until a final determination is made,” Dlabathi added.
