Neighbours allegedly hear scream as woman is killed

Man apprehended by the Primrose police in connection with the death of his girlfriend.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the murder of his girlfriend.

Police were called to the Makause informal settlement, on March 31, where they found the deceased with three stab wounds.

Paramedics were summoned to the scene where they declared the victim dead on the scene.

“When speaking to a neighbour, officers were told that the victim had been threatened by her boyfriend and on the night of the murder they had heard the victim pleading for her life,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“The neighbour also alleged that when they asked the suspect what had happened the night before he insisted nothing and that the victim was talking rubbish.”

It was further reported to police that the suspect had blood on his clothes and was looking for water to clean them.

Police opened a case of murder and soon found the suspect and the sharp object that was believed to have been used in the murder.

He was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for a bail application.
