Din-Al-View CPF encourage the community to get involved

Din-Al-View CPF is hard at work on several different project and are urging the community to get involved.

The Din-Al-View CPF has been hard at work with several different projects, within their patrol area.

One such project was a fun-filled “Easter Egg Hunt with a Twist”, which the CPF held last Saturday at the Christian Faith Fellowship Church (CFF) in Albemarle.

The event was not only about hunting Easter eggs, it also boosted a Pop-Up-Market which included a variety of stalls offering a variety of creative and household items for sale.

“Special thanks go out to Special Operations Group Security (SOG) who had two stalls at the market, one for SOG Security, and the other for Defensive Training Systems (DTS), which is affiliated to SOG,” said Teresa Robertson, public relations officer for the CPF.

The CPF was thrilled with the support of the event.

“A huge thank you goes to CFF who allowed us to use their premises as well as their equipment to set up our obstacle course for the event, free of charge,” said Robertson.

Another project the forum focused on includes the ES@H (Elderly Safe at Home) project, which is now fully operational.

“We appeal to all the elderly residents of Sector Five (which includes Dinwiddie, Albemarle, Union and Norton Small Farms) to join Es@h,” said Robertson.

For more information on Es@h or if you wish to serve on the committee contact Es@h chairperson Mariam Ramjass on 084 587 5525 or alternatively contact Robertson on 076 941 6989.

Another project will see the CPF placing community notice boards at some crèches, shops and garages throughout Sector Five.

“We also plan to upgrade our current radio network in general.

“Currently, we are finding that our signal is not always strong enough to hear each other, especially as the distance increases,” Robertson said.

The forum is appealing to businesses in the area to assist with sponsorship in this regard.

Interested parties can call Robertson or Vaughn Jones (chairperson) on 082 422 8604.

The CPF is once again appealing to the community to get involved in the fight against crime by becoming a member.

“Members have access to information via WhatsApp groups and a radio network within the sector.

“Police and security companies’ reports are also made available at our monthly meetings, generally held on the last Thursday of the month at 6.30pm in the Dinwiddie High School hall,” said Robertson.
