Karate children kick straight into nationals

The Mark Strydom SA JKA Karate Centre heads for nationals scheduled to take place in May.

Students of the Mark Strydom SA JKA Karate Centre showed great form at the SA JKA Karate provincials on March 23 at the Ellis Park Indoor Events Arena.

The competition sported talents from dojo’s all over Gauteng, in all their flair and competitiveness.

Mark Strydom, a 6th dan and the sensei of Mark Styrdom SA JKA Karate, won a gold medal in kumite, while two of his senior students, Andrew Richardt (shodan) and Brandon de Connick (purple belt), also represented the dojo well by receiving gold for their performances in their respective ranks.

All juniors from Mark’s dojo will be representing Mark Strydom SA JKA Karate as part of the Gauteng team in the nationals scheduled to take place in May 2018.

“We are proud of all our students for achieving Gauteng colours and being a part of the Gauteng team. It is a great achievement and we hope to do well in May,” said Diete Kojetin, one of the senior students of Mark Strydom SA JKA Karate.
