Stop-and-search yields results

Katlehong police attempt to curb crime in the Katlehong area through daily stop-and-search operations.

Katlehong police conducted a successful stop-and-search operation last Monday.

During the operation, officers from the Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD, nabbed 15 suspects for various offences.

Charges included:

Fraud: 4

Rape: 1

Child neglect: 1

Theft: 1

Possession of suspected stolen goods: 2

Possession of dagga: 6

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Police will continue to host similar operations in hopes of increasing police visibility in the area and curbing crime.
