One-woman musical set to get you laughing

Catch Annalakshmi’s African Adventures at Emperors.

Emperors Palace is proud to present Annalakshmi’s African Adventures, a hilarious one-woman musical comedy delving into the experiences of an Indian national living in South Africa and navigating her way through Mzansi’s unique politically and culturally charged landscape.

Annalakshmi will take to the stage, for the first time in Johannesburg, at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace on March 24.

Played by Anasia Govender, a 42-year-old mother of three, and chef and owner of Kadhai Restaurant in Durban, Annalakshmi is a candid and comedic take on the state of South Africa from an outside perspective.

Using traditional and contemporary Indian and English music, Annalakshmi tackles family, social, economic and political issues – including “the political/Bollywood-style love story between JZ and the Guptas”, as she puts it.

Proudly brought to you in association with Blu Blood, the Emperors Palace Box Office can be contacted on 011 928 1297/1213 for more information or alternatively visit www.emperorspalace.com.
