Elsburg go into break on a win

The Elsburg Eagles Cricket Club took on Duduza Cricket Club recently.

The Elsburg Eagles Cricket Club took on Duduza Cricket Club in a Sunday Promotion League match at the Elsburg Eagles main oval in Dinwiddie last Sunday.

Duduza batted first and were bowled out for a meagre 78 runs in their 50 overs.

The top bowler for Elsburg was Garreth Hann with five wickets for 11 runs in eight overs.

It was then Elsburg’s turn to take to the crease and the batters easily reached the target for the loss of only two wickets.

This gave the home side an eight-wicket victory.

The top batsman for Elsburg was Kobus Black with 43 runs.

“It was great to close the first half of the season in this manner, and let’s hope we can just keep this winning form in the new year,” said Martiens Grobler on behalf of the club.

“We at Elsburg Eagles Cricket Club wish everybody in the Germiston area a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”
