House break-ins on the rise in Marlands and Primrose East

Primrose police identify Primrose East and Marlands as house break-in hotspot.

The Primrose police are urging residents of Marlands and Primrose East to be extra careful as house break-ins continue to rise in the area.

It has been reported that a large number of these house break-ins are taking place between 10am and 2pm.

“While we are tightening our belts to bring a stop to these house break-ins, we ask the community to work with us,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Residents are asked to report all suspicious movements in their areas.

“It is alleged that criminals are using vehicles in the commission of these crimes but our community does not report suspicious unknown vehicles in their neighbourhoods.

“If you see a suspicious vehicle driving around your neighbourhood, take the registration number and report it to the police. Do not post the photo on Facebook or WhatsApp. Rather call the sector patrol vehicle.

“We further encourage residents to get to know their neighbours as this is one of the best tools in the fight against crime,” said Maome.

Officers from the Primrose Police Station, with the help of the Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk, will move through the affected areas to educate the community.
