Suspected stolen vehicle found and four arrested

Germiston SAPS arrest four men for hijacking in Driehoek.

While on patrol in Driehoek, last Friday, officers from the Germiston Police Station noticed a suspicious looking double cab bakkie.

“They pulled the vehicle over and asked the driver and three passengers to get out of the car while they and the vehicle were searched,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

During the search, an unlicensed firearm was found in the possession of one of the men and police discovered the vehicle had been hijacked in Primrose.

“The men, aged between 30 to 46 years old, were arrested and charged with hijacking,” said Raphulu.

The men will soon appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
