Traffic may be affected by movement of aircraft

The South African Airways Museum Society is getting a new aircraft.

The public is warned that there may be possible traffic congestion in Germiston this morning (Friday) as an aircraft is moved through the streets.

The Lockheed Starliner will be leaving O R Tambo International Airport shortly and travelling through Boksburg to Rand Airport.

The aircraft’s route is as follows:

• Through OR Tambo Gate E3G into Yaldwin Road in Bardene.

• Along Rondebult Road in Boksburg.

• Along Main Reef Road through Witfield, and a left turn into Wit Deep Road to link in with Power Street in Germiston.

• Then left into Joubert Street, and at the Germiston Lake right in Rand Airport Road, and into the gates at Phoebus Apollo.

Look out for the full story on this historic move.
