Victim stabbed several times with sharp object

Woman apprehended for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm in Primrose.

A Makause informal settlement woman was allegedly assaulted by her 24-year-old neighbour, recently.

The victim told police, while opening a case at the Primrose Police Station, that she was in her shack when she heard her name being called.

“When she went outside to investigate she met her neighbour who accused her of gossiping about her.

“Before she could answer, the accused allegedly took out a sharp object and stabbed her in the upper body,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose Police.

The woman sustained serious injuries during the attack and needed medical attention.

“Using the description given by the victim, officers traced the suspect and she was arrested on Wednesday and charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm,” Maome said.

She will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
