Police investigate Germiston South drive-thru shooting

Man allegedly opens fire on victim, killing him, after altercation.

The Germiston police are investigating a shooting that took place on August 26 on the corner of Angus and Webber roads, in Germiston South.

“Eye witnesses on the scene claimed that there was an argument between the deceased and the accused at the drive-thru at a local restaurant,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

It is alleged that after the altercation the accused approached the victim who was sitting in his car and opened fire.

The accused fired several shots into the victim’s upper body and drove away in his silver Hyundai i20.

The victim was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

“The matter is under police investigation, and no arrests have been made at this time,” said Raphulu.
