Murder suspect found hiding in church

Katlehong couple’s altercation allegedly ends in murder.

A 30-year-old man was recently found hiding in a church in Moleleki Extension One by the Katlehong police, after allegedly murdering his girlfriend.

It is alleged that during an altercation the accused stabbed the 23-year-old woman in the upper body.

She was declared dead on scene by paramedics.

“It is reported that the two had been fighting over their five-month-old baby.

“The suspect alleged that the deceased had left the child at home while she went to a local tavern,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, the corporate communications officer for the Katlehong police.

The man was arrested and charged with murder.

He will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
