Teacher takes second spot in bodybuilding competition

Werner Neveling excels in bodybuilding competition.

Local high school teacher, Werner Neveling (GCN, July 7) has returned home with a trophy from the IBFF (International Bodybuilding Fitness Federation) Welkom Classic.

The competition took place at the Ferdi Meyer Hall in Welkom and Neveling competed in the men’s bodybuilding tall (over 1.79m) division.

He performed extremely well and took second place.

“It was a very long day which started at 5am, but I was extremely happy with my placing,” Neveling said.

“Before a competition you need to practise your posing for at least an hour every day to make sure it is perfect.”

Leading up to the show Neveling followed a hectic training programme and prepared for 14 weeks.

He did cardio exercises six times a week.

He spent another hour every day working on each muscle group.

Neveling thanked his coach Danie Dippenaar for all his support and everyone who walked the road with him.
