Sports star of the week -Two first places for Danél
Young karateka impresses in mixed martial arts.
Talented Danél van Heerden has grown in the sport of mixed martial arts.
She was recently selected to represent South Africa at the 2017 US Open ISKA World Martial Arts Championships.
She placed first in the continuous fighting and creative weapons kata divisions at the championships.
The youngster started the sport three years ago and has already progressed to a brown belt.
Over the three years, she has scooped medals and trophies and plans on achieving more.
