Initiative sees happy faces and full tummies

The Life Sizanani team from the Life Roseacres Hospital visited Laerskool Die President.

The corridors at Laerskool Die President were alive with the sounds of excited, happy and well-fed children, recently.

The children were treated to soup and bread by the Life Sizanani team from the Life Roseacres Hospital.

As part of the Life Health group’s CSI initiative, the Life Sizanani team made soup for every learner in the school.

This amounted to a mammoth 500 mouths to feed.

Karen Landsberg, the marketing co-ordinator at Life Roseacres Hospital, said Friday’s project served as the team’s Mandela Day event.

“The staff raised money to purchase the soup ingredients and made and served it to all the children,” she said.

“We have been involved with the school for almost three years and have held a number of events at the school.”

The children were delighted with the lunch and even came back for seconds.
