Youth desk continues to fight crime

The Primrose police and Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk stand together against crime.

Members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk and Primrose police took the time to visit the Wychwood community during an awareness campaign, recently.

The team handed out 300 safety tip pamphlets during the campaign.

“House break-ins, theft and theft of motor vehicles are still giving us sleepless nights in that sector,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“We appeal to our community to take care of their property, especially those who still park their vehicles on the pavements.”

Maome added that community members should walk in groups.

“We advise community members to always walk in groups when walking in the streets. We receive complaints of robberies due to people walking alone in the dark,” said Maome.

“The police are trying their best to ensure security but some of the community members don’t follow the safety tips.”

Police and members of the youth desk had one-on-one conversations with community members and discussed crimes of concern in the sector.

Maome thanked the youth desk members for their hard work and dedication in helping to fight crime in the area.
