Suspects fail to explain to police

Two suspects nabbed in Rietfontein Road.

The Primrose police arrested two suspects, aged between 29 and 35, for possession of house break-in implements, last Monday.

This was after police officers spotted a suspicious-looking vehicle in Rietfontein Road, while doing patrols.

The vehicle was being driven with its lights off and police decided to stop the driver.

“The officers found two men who looked very nervous,” said Sgt Styles Maome, the communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.

“Police searched the vehicle and found a crowbar and hammer.

“The suspects could not give a clear explanation to the police why they had the implements in their possession.

“We have had house break-ins where crowbars were used to gain entry.”

Both suspects were arrested and have appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where the matter was postponed for plea and trial.
