Hard fought win for local side

Puma Rangers took on Super Rangers in a Germiston Local Football Association league match.

Puma Rangers Football Club’s u-17 team hosted Super Rangers FC at Hoërskool Elsburg for a Germiston Local Football Association league match, last weekend.

Puma Rangers FC started the game very positively with Tumba Kambay scoring a brace within 10 minutes of the start.

However, the home side’s defence then went to sleep and they allowed Super Rangers back into the game.

With the scoreboard sitting at 4-2 at half-time, Puma Rangers were trailing.

The second half commenced with Super Rangers on the attack but Puma Rangers’ goalkeeper Tumelo Letsalo made some good saves.

The home side then levelled matters with a brace from winger Richwin Groenewald and a solo run from Bronwyn Levi to add to the score.

Super Rangers then got one back after an own goal from Puma Rangers but the home side had the last laugh with captain Lesley Matare scoring a last minute penalty making the final score 6-5 in favour of Puma Rangers.

This moves Puma Rangers FC to second on the log.
