Recycle and help centre raise funds for new ceiling

Rest-a-While has new recycling bins.

Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Aged is excited about the new recycling bins at the centre.

“Now hopefully paper will not get stolen out of our bins anymore,” said Rest-a-While manager Trudy Carreira.

“The new secure bins have safety lids where you can only deposit paper and not take paper out.”

The centre’s recycling corner caters for glass and paper recycling and Trudy is encouraging the community to recycle and thanks those who do.

Residents are welcome to bring all types of paper, as well as glass to the bins.

The funds collected as a result of the recycling initiative are going towards fixing the ceiling at the centre, which collapsed last year.

Trudy appealed to local residents and businesses to help the centre fix the ceiling.

“If you would like to make this your 67 Minutes for Mandela Day project, we would greatly appreciate it,” she said.
