Katlehong SAPS arrest 24 over weekend

Katlehong police nab 24 suspects in weekend stop-and-search operation.

Members of the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit held a successful stop-and-search operation this weekend.

During the operation held from May 26 to 28, officers arrested 24 suspects for a number of different offences.

Charges included, domestic violence, malicious damage to property, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, shoplifting, robbery, dealing in drugs, contravening a court order, driving under the influence of alcohol, drunk in public and possession of drugs (including dagga and nyaope).

All of the accused appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
