Man found with suspected stolen property

Man arrested in Pandora Road after being found with suspected stolen property.

During a recent routine patrol of Malvern East officers from the Primrose Police Station noticed a man carrying a heavy plastic bag and acting suspiciously.

The 28-year-old was stopped in Pandora Road.

“Officers stopped the man, introduced themselves, and asked to search the plastic bag,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

During the search police found aluminium and bronze piping, which they suspected he may have removed from a house in the area.

“The suspect was asked for proof of ownership and when he could not provide any he was arrested,” said Maome.

The suspect was charged with possession of suspected stolen property and will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
