Primrose police tackle crime in the area

Primrose police share their latest arrest statistics.

Thirty-three suspects were arrested in the Primrose area from May 15 to 21.

This is according to the Primrose police’s latest arrest statistics.

The accused were charged for a number of different crimes, including attempted business break-in, possession of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of suspected stolen property, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of house break-in implements, malicious damage to property, discharging of a firearm in a public place, defeating the ends of justice and shoplifting.

The Primrose Police Station commander Col Albertina Vesi thanked everyone who contributed to these successes and encouraged officers to keep up the hard work.

Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court and some of the cases were postponed.

Some of the suspects paid admission of guilt fines and were released.
