A sweet treat for Mother’s Day

Children get creative on Mother’s Day.

Lambton resident Desiré Nel was impressed with the Mother’s Day initiative held at Pick n Pay Lambton and Pick n Pay Hazel Park, last Sunday.

“Children between the ages of two and 12 could buy and decorate a cake for their mothers for only R10,” said Nel.

“The fee included the cake, decoration goodies like smarties, speckled eggs and different coloured cream, among other things.”

Nel felt this was a great initiative.

“It was a really nice gesture from Pick n Pay; they didn’t have to do this but they did and the children loved it.

“My daughter, Chloe (10), took part in the initiative and she had a good time decorating a cake for me.

“It was affordable as well which meant most mothers could get a beautiful spoil.

“As a mother, I felt special,” said Nel.
