Katlehong police target criminals

Katlehong police arrest 27 suspects during a recent stop-and-search.

Twenty-seven suspects were arrested in Katlehong recently through a stop-and-search operation, held by members of the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit.

The accused were arrested for various crimes.

Crimes included:

  • Assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm: 2
  • House break-in and theft: 1
  • Use of a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent: 1
  • Child neglect: 1
  • Possession of a hijacked motor vehicle: 5
  • Possession of drugs (including dagga and other illegal substances): 17.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
