Woman held at gunpoint during house robbery

Men allegedly hold woman at gunpoint before making off with R9 000 worth of goods.

While asleep in her Makause informal settlement home recently, a woman heard a strange noise.

When she went to investigate she allegedly discovered three men had broken into her shack.

“The victim told officers that the men held her at gunpoint and demanded money from her.

“When she said she had no money the men searched the home and took two cellphones, groceries and a pair of expensive takkies,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The total value of the goods taken is estimated at R9 000.

Police opened a case of house robbery and after following several leads were able to find the three men.

They were arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station where they were formally charged with house robbery.

They have since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where their case was postponed for plea and trial.
