Guilty verdicts were recently handed down in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court for two separate cases investigated by the Germiston SAPS.
In the first case a guilty verdict of murder was handed down to Jabulani Nkosi.
WO Aaron Bookholane investigated the murder which occurred on November 23, 2013 in Pirrowville in Germiston where the victim was stabbed to death.
After intensive investigation from Bookholane, Nkosi was arrested.
The court found him guilty of murder and sentenced him to ten years direct imprisonment and he was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
In the second case Const Mandla Ndlozi investigated a bribery case in which Mahlatsi Thobejane attempted to bribe a police officer on December 7, last year.
Thobejane was found guilty and sentenced to three months imprisonment, suspended for three years, under the condition that he is not found guilty for the same or a similar offence.
“Brig Nkhensani Lemba, the Germiston SAPS station commander, congratulated both officers for their diligent detective work and encouraged other members to aim to get the same results in their cases,” said Capt André de Jager, spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni West cluster.
