Metro finally responds to Beaconsfield hole repairs query

Metro’s roads department still to comment on huge hole in Beaconsfield Avenue.

Since December, last year, pedestrians have had to watch their step when walking on the pavement in Beaconsfield Avenue, in Primrose.

This is because there is a huge hole surrounding the manhole found in front of Beacon House.

Residents told the GCN in December that the hole began to form in late November as the result of a water leak.

Though the metro repaired the leak, the hole and rubble were left behind.

The GCN sent a query to the metro to find out why the repairs had not been finished and when they would be completed.

Recently, after months of queries to the metro, Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the metro, responded, stating that they are still awaiting official comment from the roads department on when the repairs will be completed.

However, the hole was back-filled in both February and March.
