Wear your takkies to support a worthy cause

Children from Germiston Child Welfare recently got to meet Happy, the Tekkie Tax mascot.

Ten children from Germiston Child Welfare, together with a few Tekkie Tax volunteers were treated to a fun-filled day with Happy, the new Tekkie Tax mascot, recently.

Happy was able to interact with the children by giving them lots of hugs and treats while they enjoyed a scavenger hunt.

“This was a truly inspiring day, and it makes us remember why we work so hard at Germiston Child Welfare.

“It was nice to see the big smiles on the children’s faces,” said Barbara Bouwer, director of Germiston Child Welfare.

The local organisation is gearing up for National Tekkie Tax Day on Friday, May 26. Companies, schools and individuals are invited to buy their Tekkie Tax laces for R35 and support their charity of choice.

Children from Germiston Child Welfare, Tekkie Tax volunteers and Happy, the new Tekkie Tax mascot had a great day out, recently.

“Germiston Child Welfare is part of this significant day, not only for the benefit of the children we work with in Germiston, but also for the benefit of each and every other child, animal, family and disabled person whose life is impacted because of this campaign.

“So come on, make your donation count,” said Bouwer.
