Two yearlings are tops on day one of National Yearling Sale

The National Yearling Sale in Gosforth Park is in full swing.

The Bloodstock South Africa (BSA) National Yearling Sale is currently into day two at the BSA’s sales complex in Gosforth Park.

The top sellers for the first day of the National Yearling Sale were:

Top selling colt:

Lot 42 — Matador Step

Silvano – Maxixe by Western Winter.

Sold for R4-million to Form Bloodstock.

Bred and consigned by Lammerskraal Stud.

Lot 67 an unnamed filly sold for R3.6-million.

Top selling filly:

Lot 67: Unnamed

Captain Al – Mystic Spring by Royal Academy.

Sold for R3.6-million.

Bred and consigned by Cheveley Stud.

The aggregate sales on the day amounted to R43 305 000 and the average yearling price was R354 959, with 122 lots sold.
