Anubis set to rock BenRock

Brakpan-based band to get you in the party mood.

The BenRock Festival line-up would not be complete without rock/metal band Anubis.

The band hails from Brakpan and was founded in 2013 by bassist and backing vocalist Leon Kruger.

The original members were Duane van Niekerk on lead guitar and vocals, Fran-cois Burger on rhythm and lead guitars, Ruan van Biljon on drums and Leon on bass.

Anubis has performed shows around South Africa with top SA names, such as Van Coke Cartel, Prime Circle and Black Cat Bones, just to mention a few.

In October 2016 Ruan decided to leave the band and shortly thereafter Fran-cois.

Looking for a new drummer, Anubis was faced with a lot of challenges, but eventually found Martin Digovich, who filled the position.

Anubis is currently recording their first album, entitled “Awaken”, which will be released soon.

Their hopes and dreams are to make it big in the music industry, which they know will be hard, but they will rock on to get there.

BenRock is set to take place in Germiston on May 6 at The Beer Co and Runway Beach Bar, situated in Dakota Crescent, near Rand Airport.
